First September International Day of Struggle against Fascism and War!

Call from ICOG for Anti-War Day 2025: August 10, 2025; The Rumours of War are becoming a reality as always. Will we ever learn!!! The anticipated meeting between President Vladimir Putin and President Donald Trump over the Ukraine War continues to remind us of the danger of a 3rd World War and the possibility of the use of the Nuclear Weapons in this War. The War has intensified over the recent period. This is so because in Europe, the military alliance NATO and Russia, the leading nuclear powers are at logger heads bitterly confronting each other in a War that is all about the sphere of influence and the race to accessing raw materials in the region for their imperialist ambitions and agenda. This is an Imperialist War!

The War between Iran and Israel and the Genocide in Gaza is part of all the imperialist warmongering, the War in South Sudan, the War in the Democratic Republic Congo (DRC), the War in Libya, the War between India and Pakistan, the list is endless. These are all imperialists Wars fought for gaining spheres of influence. They are fought in a race to access raw materials, the minerals, the resources that are needed by the imperialists so as to fight and win the race of competing with one another.

This race for competition for the natural resources comes at a heavy price as it is highly responsible for the destruction of nature and the environmental degradation.

Eighty years ago on the 6th of August in 1945 was the day the first nuclear bomb was dropped in Hiroshima Japan and then the 9th in Nagasaki. Tens of thousands of people took to the streets this year in many countries to protest against the threat of nuclear war. We the International Automotive Workers of today need to emulate the fighting spirit of these activists against the rise of Fascism and the Wars. The worldwide expansion of nuclear power plants despite the last catastrophic experience in Fukushima serves to demonstrate the arrogance and the determination of the imperialists. This makes it clear that the need to intensify the call for the International Solidarity of struggles against fascism and all imperialist wars.

These wars are funded by the governments of the day, yet the masses of our people are languishing in poverty, unemployment, homelessness, and gross inequalities. The Automobile companies report billions in profits despite declining sales. These profits are squeezed out of the automotive workers with plant closures, layoffs and short-time work. Automotive workers at various Plants in different countries are taking up the fight against this onslaught.

As International Automotive Workers we need to support and participate in all struggles and efforts against all Imperialist Wars.

We call for participation in the Zimmerwald Conference 2.0 on 6th of September 2025 in Zurich Switzerland.

We need to strengthen workers' and trade union unity, coordinate our struggles even better and work for a world without wars, exploitation and oppression.

Strengthen international workers' unity in the struggle against fascism and for world peace!

Against shifting the burden of war and crisis onto the workers and their families! Fight for higher wages!

Against the suppression of workers' and trade union rights!

For a full and legal right to strike in all matters!

Long live International Solidarity!

Long live International Workers’ Unity! Viva!
